Celebrate the Season with Skinny Sips
There's nothing I love more than a festive cocktail, but many have a ton of added sugar and calories and can easily add up to more than you would consume in a whole meal! The trick is to focus on lighter options and seasonal flavors in order to minimize added sugar and calories.
Some of your best choices are dry red or white wines (almost any besides a Riesling), champagne, prosecco, spritzers, light beers, or a liquor mixed with a calorie-free beverage, like a gin and tonic.
Here's a recipe for the Mistletoe Margarita I mentioned. There's no added sugar and they are soooo good! But be careful how many you have because alcohol lowers inhibitions and may lead to more snacking! Check out the Jingle Juice Holiday Punch too!
Cheers!

Mistletoe Margarita
6 ounces tequila
8 oz pomegranate juice
2 oz sour mix
2.5 oz triple sec
2 oz cranberry juice
Directions: Place ice, juices, triple sec, sour mix, and tequila in a blender. Blend on low until smooth. Dip rim of glass in water and then green sparkles. Pour margarita in glass and enjoy. Garnish with fresh cranberries.
Jingle Juice Holiday Punch
1 bottle whipped vodka
1 bottle pink champagne or sparkling rose
1 2 liter bottle Cherry 7 up
Cranberries for garnish
Directions: In a punch bowl or large pitcher filled with ice, combine all of the ingredients. Stir well. Serve over ice and garnish with cranberries.
